The Long Center, Sterling Affairs, and First Night Austin are partnering to create a “gala within a celebration” for downtown Austin revelers
(AUSTIN) – The Long Center has placed tickets on sale for The Long First Night, partnering with Sterling Affairs and First Night Austin for a first-of-its-kind New Year’s Eve gala, from 4 p.m. to midnight on Dec. 31.
The event at the Long Center – utilizing both the outdoor City Terrace and the mezzanine inside the performing arts facility – will bring a new dimension to the annual First Night Austin festivities, which is in its fifth year of delivering dynamic visual and performing arts to downtown Austin for a free, intergenerationally-programmed public celebration for an estimated 100,000 revelers.
“We wanted to keep everything First Night is all about, but add something new in its fifth year,” said Patricia Paredes, spokesperson for First Night Austin. “For those who love the Grand Procession down Congress, the fireworks celebration at midnight, the magic that thousands witnessed on Auditorium Shores last year with the Resolution, all for free – we’re still bringing those elements of the First Night celebration to Austin.”
“But for those who want to experience a fun, festive, first-of-its-kind party within the First Night experience,” Paredes added, “the Long First Night has been created.”
Tickets for the event will be sold at a special advance rate online until Dec. 31st. General admission tickets, which include access to the Long Center, cash bars and food, and all entertainment (which will include music from bands and DJs, as well as a children’s activities area), are $15 until the 31st and $20 at the gate.
A limited number of VIP tickets, on sale for $95 until the 31st and $110 at the gate, include access to the Long Center and all entertainment, as well as access to open bars, complimentary buffets and chefs stations, and a private VIP party.
